BRADY FAMILY UPDATES (1B)

Hi everyone!

We are so excited to be moving into the building. As we mentioned in our interview, we are hoping to make some modifications to the unit ahead of moving in!

Our goal is to make the bathrooms work better for our family. We are hoping to combine the shower room and toilet room on the ground floor into one space with a tub for our daughter, Miro. Upstairs, we are planning to remove the bathtub and redo the bathroom, so it has the shower, vanity, and toilet in one space.

Aside from the bathrooms, we are hoping to update the flooring on both levels and to add some casework (a cool lofted bed over a closet for Miro and some good, new storage under the stairs.

Our plans wouldn’t require any structural modifications or anything like that and the contractor we are hoping to work with would be getting any necessary electrical and plumbing permits. In order to do the bathroom downstairs, we would need access to the unit in the basement below but just for a little while so the plumber could have access to the drains from our unit. We would have a more specific timeline based on the start of the project. We are hoping to begin in early December if you all or okay with it.

The contractor is estimating around 60 days of overall work, but it could go up a bit from there based on our previous experiences with renovations.

Below are some plans of each level we worked up which have sliders so you can see the existing/demolition plan and then the proposed plans in the same spot. Just slide the center button from side to side to see. We’ve also included a couple of renderings we’ve put together of the space….the new bathrooms and the under stair storage.

Thanks for having a look!

This is our plan for the downstairs bathroom combining the two separate rooms now into one with a tub.

This is our plan for the upstairs bathroom. We want to create something simple and bright that consolidates the shower, vanity, and toilet in the same space

This is what we’d like to do under the stairs. Our idea is to have a pantry and a lot of storage. These large shelves would roll out on casters.
