MAIN AREA LAYOUT
Zoning - For our initial layout we aimed to prioritize flexibility but also create clear zoning where things could happen. In this case, we have identified 2 zones, Gathering and Playing running North and South. The hearth is the obvious place to gather, to come together in soft-seating and hear a speaker or have a social meeting. The furniture today represents that in some way. With Play, we wanted to consolidate the pool table, shuffleboard, car tables, and dart board on the South side of the building, furthest away from the gathering near the hearth. Hopefully for many evenings, these things could be happening within the same space. The other factor we wanted to consider was seating height. We wanted to keep low seating near the West windows so that we didn’t obscure views and light. The tall, bar seating falls back toward the bar and takes advantage of the agency to the bar and the entry for a more casual zone.
Slider - If you slide this back and forth you can see the empty space and the space with your exisitng furniture re-configured.
