The concept with this initial site strategy is to clean up and rationalize a productive site. The Desorcy building is an icon, so that is extended along the waterfront and becomes a larger, functional space for events. That would “L” to replace the former maker workshop gallery and frame a larger courtyard greenspace for events and the broader community. The boatbuilding remains in the same location and that side of the site is a little grittier, and more productive. The MV times building is lifted up on a podium that is shared with new workforce housing units providing parking underneath.
